How referrals work

Every account gets a referral code of its own, made for you the first time you open the Referrals page. There is nothing to apply for and nothing to set up.

Your code and link

The code is shown at the top of the page. Copy link puts a sign-up link built from it on your clipboard — that link is the code with a registration page attached, so sharing either works.

The page is read-only. You cannot edit your code, generate a different one or claim a particular word; the one you have is the one you keep. If you need it changed, ask whoever runs this instance.

How a sign-up is attributed

Attribution happens once, at the moment the other person registers, using the code carried by the link they arrived through. It cannot be added afterwards, so someone who signs up first and mentions it later is not attributable to you.

One account can only ever be attributed to one referrer. A code that does not exist, a code that has been disabled, and a person who is already attributed to someone else all pass silently — their account is created normally, just unattributed.

What the statuses mean

Joined means they have an account. Nothing is owed yet.

Pending reward means they have actually paid for something. The reward is fixed at that point and a maturity date is set, counted from the date of their first payment rather than from when it was noticed.

Credited means the maturity date has passed, they are still net-paid-up, and the reward has been added to your credit balance. It appears in your credit history as a referral reward, and it spends exactly like credit you bought.

Voided means it will not pay: their payment was refunded in full, or the code was disabled, or the programme was switched off while the reward was still waiting.

The Totals card counts joined, pending and credited referrals, and the table below it lists your referrals individually with a masked version of each address — never the address itself.

If the programme is paused

The whole programme can be switched off across the platform. When it is, the page says so plainly: sign-ups using a referral link are not being attributed and no reward is being paid. Your code is still shown and anything already recorded is kept, but there is no copy-link button while it is off, because inviting people would be inviting them to nothing.
